About Our Trauma Skills Program

Introducing the Trauma Skills Group, a structured 12-week program designed to help individuals manage trauma-related symptoms and improve daily functioning. This program focuses on building stability and foundational coping skills before engaging in intensive trauma processing therapy.

Program Features

Grounded in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) principles, the program helps participants:

  • Understand the impact of trauma on mind and body
  • Improve self-care and emotional regulation
  • Reduce physiological and emotional arousal
  • Address re-experiencing and dissociation
  • Challenge unhelpful attitudes and assumptions
  • Enhance motivation, connection, and enjoyment of life

Participants attend as day patients, with costs claimable through private health insurance or workers compensation. A GP or Psychiatrist referral is required for admission.

Who Is This Program For?

The Trauma Skills Program is suitable for individuals experiencing trauma-related symptoms who need coping strategies before starting trauma processing therapy.
Please note: This program is not appropriate for patients in acute crisis or requiring inpatient care.
