Palliative Care

Toronto Private Hospital is committed to providing excellent medical and palliative care services.

Palliative Care

The Palliative Care Service is available to anyone living with an incurable illness who requires specialist care.

Toronto Private Hospital is committed to providing excellent care at the end of life.

Specialist palliative support is offered to those people with active, progressive far advanced disease (both malignant and non malignant in nature), where the prognosis is limited and the focus of care is the quality of life.

Excellent symptom management, as well as supportive and end of life care is provided by  Palliative Medicine Specialist doctors, working alongside trained palliative care nursing and allied health professionals.

Coordinated hospital care is provided around the clock, ably supported in the community by local general practitioners and community palliative nursing services (Westlakes Palliative Care and Silver Chain group).

Our aim is to provide a safe, compassionate and comforting environment for patients, families and carers as they negotiate the final phase of life.

Referrals to the inpatient palliative care service is initiated by medical referral from your general practitioner or consultant surgeon or physician.
