Dr Oakley is a Rehabilitation Specialist who completed her training in Rehabilitation Medicine at Hunter Area Health Service at the end of 2017. Dr Oakley is passionate about Rehabilitation for the Older Person. The Older person may need to improvement their level of function after hospitalisation caused by a variety of health issues, or combination of health issues. Alternatively, the Older Person may have suffered functional decline in the community. Improving level of function, safety, and quality of life for the Older person, requires a comprehensive but tailored approach, focusing on what the individual needs to achieve, what can realistically be achieved, and how that person can be best supported to manage safely and live their best life. Outside of Rehabilitation for the Older Person, Dr Oakley has many other interests within the rehabilitation including rehabilitation after Stroke or other Neurological or Neurosurgical Conditions, and rehabilitation after Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr Oakley is based at TPH and offers inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for insured patients.
